Dazzling Cafe // Nyx SMLC Stockholm // SFG

Just clocked 4km: my last run before I head off to Taipei to get fat! I thought I'd better kill some calories before I go, so that I feel less guilty about eating my weight in yummy street food when I'm there. This is actually the first time my family is going on a free and easy holiday, previously nobody could be bothered to plan lol. This time I decided to plan the trip myself, so hopefully everything works out ✌🏻️Currently waiting for my dad to get home with dinner, so I shall spam photos!

Met my bestie yesterday for our semester-ly catchup! We hardly get to see each other now because she's NUS and I'm NTU, and we are both workaholics - she's busy with her BF, USP, and studies, and I'm busy traveling to and fro school and keeping up with my studies too. We end up meeting only once or twice during the holidays when the semester ends. And when we meet, it's a never-ending time of trading the most ridiculous stories and events that happened during the semester.

It was tough at first because I was so used to seeing her everyday. We were in the same class through 4 years of secondary school, and then the same CCA in 2 years of JC. We hung out together in the CCA room every morning before assembly because we both reached school early. We have seen each other through our ugliest days and survived through school together. ✌🏻️

But back to the toast! I always insist on going to brunch places but my bestie is an amazing cook, so she always says that she can cook the brunch for much cheaper instead 😂 And I remembered that when DC first opened she wanted to try it out, so I suggested going there. To be honest though I think this toast pretty much fell short of both our expectations (and I have low standards for food). Maybe because it was so pretty, I expected it to taste better?

We ended up deconstructing the toast ourselves and started eating the bottom layers first, which were dry and rock-hard. I guess the cubes stuffed with hazelnut inside were interesting. There was too little ice cream and too much marshmallow fluff piped over the toast, and overall it was just too dry and unappetizing. I think I may have expected too much haha. I'm not sure it's totally worth the $24~ after GST, so it's quite unlikely that I'll be visiting the place again.

I don't usually take photos with Christmas trees but my bestie got a little snap-happy with the camera, so, just pose, I guess. It was impossible to get the whole tree in because I would look like an ant in the photo! This tree is so cute though with its little mushrooms, like a fairy grove.

This top is so comfy I feel like it could be worn as pajamas. It has a raw edge hem and cuffed sleeves and feels as comfortable as an old t-shirt. I'm only going to be able to wear long sleeves and long pants in Taipei next week, so I decided to go all out with short sleeves and short shorts, before I bundle myself up like a dumpling. It rained the whole day yesterday though so the lighting was terrible and I only got one good photo.

Couldn't even get a good face shot but I was wearing Nyx SMLC in Stockholm here. I really like the colour @jacelynlynlyn! The most amazing thing is that it felt like I wasn't wearing anything on my lips. I have this love-hate relationship with lipsticks/lip glosses because they make my hair stick to my mouth, and I always feel like there's a layer of goop on my mouth. Stockholm didn't feel like anything at all, and the colour's a very pretty neutral pinkish nude.

I wasn't used to it at first because my lips are reddish without any lip products so I normally stay away from pink lip products (I feel like they're too Barbie-esque) so when I first painted Stockholm my first thought was "oh god it's like salmon pink I look so weird" but the colour really grew on me! My bestie even told me she couldn't stop staring at my mouth because she liked the colour so much. By the end of the day it had settled into all the lines on my lips and looked terrible.

But that was after maybe 6-7 hours of wear and one touch up? My lips are naturally super dry always cracking, so no surprise there. It didn't feel overly drying, and I'm actually quite stoked to try more colours next time!

I also need to get my butt off the sofa to pack my luggage but I'm so lazy! I ordered iPhone cable protectors from Shoppee but I get the feeling my parcel is lost for good because all the other items I ordered came three days ago.😞 darn it.
