Time check: 5.42AM I'm heading to Taoyuan International Airport now for my flight back to Singapore. Can't wait to eat my Mister Donut breakfast that we bought at Ximen Station last night using the deposits refunded from our EasyCards. They didn't have the one I wanted anymore. ): it's the one shown in the photo. Normal Mister Donuts look like a ring of bubbles. This one looked like a piped cookie with chocolate on it. If I'm not wrong the strawberry version is called Angel-something.  Anyway this donut was so good. It was some kind of pastry donut coated in chocolate and filled with a small amount of a light pastry cream. Erm. Need I say more? Chocolate-coated cream-stuffed anything is always good. I wish they still had it last night!  I was so tired last night from packing that I didn't update my last day's photos; maybe I'll do it at the airport later. Currently looking like 🙄🙄 because my sister and I returned to our hotel room today to pack our luggages before we fly off tomorrow morning, and we realized that the chambermaid threw away our shoeboxes and paper bags. We bought new sports shoes to wear because our Doctor Martens were killing our feet. And also because we have wanted New Balance for years and could never justify buying them, so since we were in Taipei, just buy. We left the paper bag on the floor next to a paper bag of chocolates. My sister put her shoebox into the paper bag. I left my empty shoebox next to the TV. We didn't even realize til we wanted to put them in our luggage today, that they were gone. The hotel staff called up the chambermaid and she said she thought the boxes were empty so she threw them away. 🙄 Honestly though, aside from the fact that we are pretty displeased that our shoeboxes and paper bags are gone, some things make no sense 1) How could she assume that the boxes were empty?...

On the train back to Taipei from Ruifang and I can't sleep so I'll update a couple of photos! We visited Shifen and Jiufen today and released the sky lantern on the train tracks. The sister and I. Being city girls, we didn't particularly enjoy Shifen and Jiufen, though I loved LOVED the peanut ice cream in Jiufen! I wish I had bought more, really.  I'm too lazy to transfer more photos to edit so most of my Taipei photos will be uploaded in one big photo diary. When I got on the train, there were some random people sitting in our seats? It made us really confused and wondering if we got on the wrong train. I think they got onto the train illegally without tickets though 🙊 #hazelnutinTaipei

Hello from Danshui (panorama taken at Lover's Bridge) It was freezing today, at 14 degrees. Unfortunately it was also the day I decided not to wear a knit pullover. At least I brought out my new scarf! My hands are so cold though that I can barely type. I've seen people walk past in short sleeves or short skirts and I have no idea how they're still walking!  I'm on the way back to Ximen now, at least it's not cold in the train. My hands are still numb though! Pink guava from Danshui Old Street. It's so pretty. Having fruits here is like eating solid gold; everything seems to be more expensive than in Singapore. Or perhaps it's because it's a tourist attraction so prices may be hiked up. We haven't had much fruits or vegetables for the past few days and I'm not used to it at all. We visited Fort San Domingo. When you try to take a step photo and there are distracting photo bombers everywhere so you have to crop yourself into a tiny corner. Visited the Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall this morning (free entrance, so give it a try) and took the opportunity to take a few #ootd shots. Actually, I wanted to eat at a braised pork rice that was nearby the CKS Station, so I ended up adding the CKS Memorial Hall into our plan for the day since it was in the area anyway. Currently on the train to Songshan Station and I'm falling into a food coma. Trying hard to stop myself from fading into a nap. Finally got to eat my Prince Potato and mochi (thanks to direction tips from  @farahdean  hehe I almost couldn't find it again). It was quite hilarious because I said "apparently it's near Nature Republic! Huh where is that!" Dad: "oh that's not here..." Sis: "it's on the other street let's go!" Mum: IT'S RIGHT IN FRONT OF US... Oops. The potato was so good! I ordered the Club specialty and the Smoked Chicken. Definitely going to eat it again before I leave Taipei! Also, Japanese Mochi! Peanut/Brown Sugar. This was so, so good. We shared it amongst four of us but I'm pretty sure I could eat at least two by myself. It's the first stall in the alley, followed by the beef and then Prince Potato, and some other yummy fishballs. So much good food all in one place! The original flavored fishball. Currently typing this as I sit in a bath tub filled with boiling hot water that soothes my frazzled soul and aching legs. Going on holiday to a new place can be nerve-wracking, especially when you have to take into consideration how far your legs can possibly bring you before giving way. I have a ton of photos from today, so hopefully I get out of this tub and pick some of my favourite photos before the day ends. Be right back; I'm currently battling with the phobia of dropping my phone in. Ok I have 10 minutes before the clock strikes midnight. I headed for Taipei Zoo at 9AM this morning; it was relatively easy to just take the train there (it's the terminal stop). It's a short walk out of the station to the Zoo, and you can pay for entrance using your EasyCard (Taipei's version of Ez-link). It's only NT60 which is about $3; so affordable that we could not give it a miss. My sister and I are wearing our new NB bought last night from Ximending! Just in...
