Taipei Day 4: Wufenpu // Raohe Night Market

When you try to take a step photo and there are distracting photo bombers everywhere so you have to crop yourself into a tiny corner.
Visited the Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall this morning (free entrance, so give it a try) and took the opportunity to take a few #ootd shots. Actually, I wanted to eat at a braised pork rice that was nearby the CKS Station, so I ended up adding the CKS Memorial Hall into our plan for the day since it was in the area anyway.
Currently on the train to Songshan Station and I'm falling into a food coma. Trying hard to stop myself from fading into a nap.

[EDIT] Realized there's only one more stop so I can't sleep anyway. Headed to Wufenpu now, be back with photos of the best braised pork rice later!
Time for some shopping in Wufenpu! I haven't actually found any clothes to buy in Taipei yet haha everything was either too expensive or too impractical in Singapore (think knits and scarves and heavy coats, though some speckled knits have been really tempting). Maybe I'll find something here!
Braised pork for lunch at Jin Feng just now! This was the medium size and it was only NT40!
Kong ba for NT35 per portion (this was 2 portions). So yummy despite me having to cut away the fattest portions!
We also got tough, eggs and two bowls of mincemeat soup. The soup was really delicious! My sister said this was the best meal she has had in Taipei so far.
The momma and I before lunch!
The shop is really easy to find and is just outside Exit 3 or 4 of Chiang Kai Shek Station. Opposite the road is a 胡椒饼 shop which is apparently really well known, so we headed over after lunch to buy four.
NT30 for one, which is very reasonable for a yummy biscuit stuffed with black pepper pork!
We were so full from lunch that we headed to nearby Wufenpu before chomping down on these biscuits. 😋

I'm currently resting my legs after spending 2-3 hours in Wufenpu! There wasn't much to buy there because most shops were selling knits for the winter. It's strange because people here wear outfits ranging from mini denim shorts to thick and heavy coats even though they're all walking on the same street!
I scored a sleeveless knit top for NT200, a knit midi skirt for NT190 (I hope I look ok in it) and an apricot shoulder bag for NT250. The shop owner told me they actually design and manufacture the bags themselves? He was really friendly and nice so I felt more willing to buy a bag even though I don't really need a new one. 😂

We are about to go to Raohe Night Market, just a short walk away from Songshan Station after our feet recover enough. 🏃🏻
And, oh em gee! I got such a big shock when @mermaidsarereal messaged me to say that we had won, because I entered this expecting like a 0% chance of winning. So excited to win one because I've been trying to justify buying one for a long time!

Currently on the way back to the hotel now because my legs gave way 😞 My ankle hurts with any weight put on it and I think it's best if I let my legs rest until our trip to Danshui tomorrow.
