Day 79

Currently in a state of dilemma. I need some advice!!

This year I'll celebrate my 21st birthday! And after much deliberation I've decided not to hold a party - I've never been one of the "popular" kids so I've only stuck close to very few people and they're all different cliques who don't know each other, so at a party they would all be self-entertaining within the clique (since I can't possibly split myself to talk to all the cliques). Which I feel defeats the purpose of celebrating my bday.
Despite not having a party, I want a cake. Like a gloriously gorgeous personalized cake just for my 21st.

And I know who I want to get it from - I've been following and stalking her Instagram newsfeed for almost a year, waiting for the time of my 21st to come so that I can order a cake.

I obviously expected it to be expensive because it's highly customized and you don't get the standard flavored cake with customized decorations.
The flavours of the cake are customized too, every layer. I can see the effort put into the cake and I know that things like that don't come cheap.

However all my friends have been telling me it's a complete rip-off and I should just look for a cheaper cake elsewhere.

To put things into perspective it's about $90-150 for a small 4-5" cake. I know it sounds ridiculous but if you knew what I was talking about you might want a cake from her too.
But $150 is not an easy sum for me to spend just like that. I know it's like practically 3 times that of a normal bakery cake and I'm really not saying that the cake is expensive (because it's not, for the customization involved) BUT I'm wondering if I SHOULD splurge.

I get $200 a month from my parents as allowance. And money is so hard to earn - last night I saw my dad stay up till 1am just to finish his work. Which is why I'm reluctant to spend my allowance on it.
(Credits to owner - I don't want to mention who it is, but some may already know who I think).

I mean just look at that cake... I want something like that. 😭 But everybody is telling me it's not worth it.

And I also just spent $228 of my parents' money on my new glasses. And I'm going to spend $100 out of my own pocket to watch Les Miserables in June.

I feel so bad committing to another $150? Should I or should I not?

What would you do? Please give me some advice D:
