Taipei Day 3: National Palace Museum // Shihlin Night Market
Finally got to eat my Prince Potato and mochi (thanks to direction tips from @farahdean hehe I almost couldn't find it again). It was quite hilarious because I said "apparently it's near Nature Republic! Huh where is that!"
Dad: "oh that's not here..."
Sis: "it's on the other street let's go!"
Mum: IT'S RIGHT IN FRONT OF US...
Oops.
The potato was so good! I ordered the Club specialty and the Smoked Chicken. Definitely going to eat it again before I leave Taipei!

Also, Japanese Mochi! Peanut/Brown Sugar. This was so, so good. We shared it amongst four of us but I'm pretty sure I could eat at least two by myself. It's the first stall in the alley, followed by the beef and then Prince Potato, and some other yummy fishballs. So much good food all in one place!
The original flavored fishball. The mala ones had me tearing and my tongue burning because I can't take spicy food. I really like these fishballs how are they so tasty?
We are headed to the National Palace Museum now, before going to Shihlin Night Market! See you all later.

On the bus back from the National Palace Museum and my legs are breaking. I want another bowl of the Ah Chung Mee Sua we ate just now! The museum didn't allow photography inside, but there were lots of relics and remnants of the past that make you really amazed with the level of detail the artists in the past put into their work. We don't see anything like that anymore.
At night the trees outside the National Palace Museum are lit up with strings of light and it looks magical. I'm not sure if it's because of the Christmas season, or if the lights are there year round. My stomach is growling now, and hopefully we reach Shihlin soon!
Finally back at my hotel (time check 10.48PM) and I literally collapsed onto the floor because my legs are breaking. How do people do this - because I'm not so sure I can spend another 3 days like this. I wake up in the morning with sore feet which means I start the day off with feet that aren't 100% charged. More like 50%?
Anyway I ate a fair bit at Shihlin Night Market, but after a while I lost my appetite because my feet hurt too much!

1) A pork sausage (3 for NT100) to start our Shihlin Expedition
2) Followed by 葱油饼, which I loved because I like spring onions
3) We also had cold Churros coated in chocolate and stuffed with custard, because I've actually never eaten Churros before.
4) And some sweet large strawberries because our diet now is sorely lacking of fruits and vegetables. I'm not used to it!

We got some fried milk (stick of 3 for NT20) and fried Oreos (4 for NT50), but I think I'm not very partial to deep fried food anymore.
Then I chanced upon this beef store with quite a bit of a queue (there are so many of these beef stalls!) so I decided to try the beef with the Rose salt. My family rarely eats beef but I insisted on trying it. It was so, so good, and I was so, so excited when he started using the blue flame on them. I wish I could have some more!

1) Grilled squid because I insisted on trying it even though I had to wait ages for it.
2) Grilled corn shop (corn price by weight)
3) The BEST (half eaten) grilled corn ever (from that shop). Like, EVER. It was coated in a sweet-ish sauce (the same kind used to grill the squid if I'm not wrong) and it didn't even taste much like corn. It was chewy and sweet. Best corn ever. I swear.
4) Some cute figurines from a random stall just to complete my collage. They were adorable!

I also bought a new pair of Nikes at $98, which is quite a steal, I think? I needed a new pair of running shoes anyway and would have needed to buy a pair in Singapore so I thought why not?
Now I'm off to shower and crash for the night! I hope my feet are back to normal tomorrow.
