Tartelette in Bloom swatches / Nyx SMLC Cannes

Shameless selfie as I edit photos of my Tarte Bloom swatches. My #FOTD to today's interview! I think I did my eyebrows too dark and thick for an interview but hopefully the interviewer didn't care 😂

After the interview I went to Sephora to check out the new Bloom palette... And I fell in love.

Would you look at that gorgeous packaging please? I have 10% off at Sephora now and I really WANT to buy it. Like just make an impulsive purchase. I feel like I deserve it after making it through two interviews. Hahaha. #tarte #bloom

Here's how it looks like on the inside. It retails for $69.

By the way this is Too Faced's Chocolate BonBon for comparison - it's $76 and really does smell like chocolate. I was turned off by the smell though, having chocolate smelling makeup just seems a little strange to me.

It's pricier BUT comes with more colours! I can't say the colours appeal to me though - I know for sure I won't be using much of that shimmery purple.

But moving onto Bloom. I'd originally wanted Tartelette but I saw in Kathleenlight's video that she prefers Bloom (the colours are more blendable) and I was convinced just like that (power of social media 🙄).

So I stood in Sephora swatching... And then staring at the palette... And when I stepped out of the mall into the direct sunlight (trying to protect my arm of swatches from being smudged)... I was like 😍.

I'm just going to let the swatches speak for themselves. I just have to put it out there that I LOVE the middle two shades of the 3 rows. I probably won't get much wear out of the last and first column, but the middle 2? Perfection 👌🏻

Please note that I didn't swatch Flower Child with a lot of "force", so probably quite little pigment came off onto my arm. Also because I wasn't too interested in the colour. My underarm is relatively fair by the way, so I get the feeling that Flower Child won't show up too great on darker skin. But can I just say that Firecracker and Smarty Pants... 😻

Sweetheart and Rebel. See what I mean by loving the two middle columns? They're really THE BEST. So neutral and so so pretty!

I saw a lot of reviews that Funny Girl was a disappointment because it wasn't very pigmented. And it isn't. But that's not a problem for me because it looks so pretty as a sheer glitter as well. Sometimes a little goes a long way.

My entire arm! 😂 I wanted to swatch BonBon as well but I just had no space on my arm any more and I couldn't make it home trying to protect two arms of swatches. But I mean just looking at the colours involved I somehow prefer Bloom.

I'm probably going to cart this out with my 10%... If anybody is interested in hopping onto my discount please let me know. 😂 I'll probably cart this out by midnight!

@yanbell SHOULD WE BUY IT I feel like we are terrible influences on each other. 😂

Oh and - received Nyx SMLC in Cannes in the mail (bought it off Shopee for only $6 omg) and erm can I say today must have been a great day for makeup because the colour... 😍 I think I like it more than Stockholm because it's more red-toned. My type of lip colour! 

And now that my long #letstalkmakeup is over I'm back to studying for my midterms and getting ready for my project meeting later. 😌

Update: CHECKED OUT MY ORDER!

But I accidentally made an order without realizing the code wasn't there (after selecting sample the code disappeared).

So I made another order. 😞 I really hope Sephora cancels my order in time because I do not want to pay $70 for another palette... 😅
