I got scammed today

I got scammed, guys.

I'm so annoyed and I don't know if I am annoyed at myself that it happened, or at the fact that such scam sites exist and are not shut down by the Canadian government.

Then again the government probably has better things to do than sit around taking down scam sites.

Guess I only have myself to blame for not checking first before I made payment.

I am so. Angry.

Long story short: Singaporeans need an ETA to travel into Canada.

I went online and clicked the first google search that came out, unaware that it was a scam site that "helps people apply for ETA" and charged them a service fee. I thought it was the actual Canadian government ETA site, so I happily keyed in payment details.

Turns out it was a scam and I had to pay 89 euros for my ETA. The actual price is 7 CAD.

I don't even know what to do or say anymore.

I'm just feeling so frustrated and angry that I fell for such a scam, and that such scams even exist.

I guess there are people like that all over the world who enjoy making a living out of cheating others. 

I just... I don't know what I should do any more.

I did a quick Google search and someone had posted on a forum that she had gotten scammed.

Most, if not all the replies went along the lines of "technically it wasn't a scam, you still got an ETA. You were just too careless to check the site properly so you got cheated of the money. There was no scam."

That is some tact right there, people. 🙄

But this has put me in a foul mood all day long and I'm really MINDBLOWN.

How could I be so stupid?
