Packing Makeup for Exchange

My aunt bought me back 2 Bourjois lippies from Bangkok! I did some calculations and it roughly converts back to around 15 SGD which is a really good deal considering it's 25 SGD in Singapore. I got these as a present from her though; gotta remember to buy her back some presents from Canada.

I'm bringing Beau Brun with me on exchange and leaving Nude-Ist sealed for until I come back!
I don't normally eat carrot cake now (used to eat it too often when I was younger) because I try to watch what I eat... But decided to just have this for lunch today in case I miss it while on exchange!

I told L during our meetup last weekend that I don't think I'll miss local food, given that I only eat it on weekends and I don't have cravings for it ever, but she said that I'll probably want to eat it just because I miss home. So... Shall eat it first before I fly.
This is all the makeup that I'm bringing with me to Canada! I'm planning to buy quite a bit in USA so I'm packing really light.

- Violet Voss Holy Grail Palette: bringing a huge eye palette because it has so many colours from shimmers to mattes, browns to cranberries... I'm going to limit my eye palette expenditure in USA for sure.

- Za Two Way Foundation: for days when I want minimal coverage

- Biore sunblock: it's taking too long to finish... I'm always lazy to use sunblock.
Holy. I realized I forgot my eyeshadow pencil. Good thing I posted this on Dayre!

- Innisfree No Sebum Primer: it doesn't work fantastically, so I'm finishing it up and probably buying setting sprays or other primers

- Innisfree No Sebum Powder: in compact form so that it's easy to use to set my face

- the Saem concealer: it's actually new, because my Maybelline one is running out so I'm leaving that at home
I bought shade 1.5, and it feels very thick and creamy on my hand. I guess a little goes a long way, but we will see when I try it on my face. 😳

The colour seems ok, and it blends out pretty well. I hope it will do a better job than my Maybelline concealer at covering up my deathly dark circles.
I'm only bringing 1 blush: Tarte's Ecstatic. I figure that finding a slew of rosy pink/coral blushes in the drugstores should be easy peasy and I can just buy more blushes there so I might as well bring a more nude, natural shade that will go with most looks. This is probably my most-used blush, the Tarte embossed logo isn't even clearly visible any more.

For that same reasoning, I'm not bringing any contour/bronzer/highlights. Buying everything there!

Ta-dah, Etude House Eyebrow Pencil all packed and ready to go.

This one is half-finished and I bought a new one as a spare! I doubt it's going to last me 4-5 months to be honest so I'll probably have to buy other pencils in Canada.

I'm using shade #01 because all the lighter shades are forever out of stock and there's tons of stock for darker shades.

Also packed my Burt's Bees lipbalm... Will probably buy another there if I need it.
Only 3 lippies are coming with me because I predict a major lippie haul!

They look like the same shade but they're not!

- Colourpop USL in November: sweet pink everyday shade
- Colourpop Matte Lippie Stix in Brink: basic nude colour that's really easy to wear and looks good with anything
- Bourjois Rouge Velvet in Beau Brun: taking a gamble with this because I don't know how exactly it looks on the lips but I can't not bring a red based one!

I put a lot of thought into shortlisting 3 😂
I actually had this strange moment last night when I heard from someone that a person I'm going on exchange with talked crap about me. Well, it got back to me in the end. 🙄

I was really annoyed because I felt what he said was really unfair. It wasn't anything too bad; apparently he was annoyed at a decision I made for the group. And I made this decision because of factors like no possible flights/instructions from the landlord to reach at a certain time. Not because of my own personal reasons.
I got extra annoyed because this entire time, since before May, I've been contacting the landlord and figuring out all the details like rent transfer, deposits, anything we need to take note of etc. Even last night, J and I were scrambling frantically to get the Internet sorted out before we fly.

Basically, if you did nothing to help out in the process, don't complain. ✋🏻
And when I have to make a decision of inconveniencing you/a whole group of people, I think it makes more sense to go for the greater good.

In any case, gossip through the grapevine is often twisted. I was shocked because I did not expect the supposed originator of the gossip to feel that way or even complain about it to others. So I'm choosing to just let it go and not think about it, though this has left a very bad taste in my mouth.
